If you ask Chef
“Ozaki” what
he loves the most about his job as a sushi chef, he’ll
tell you it’s the opportunity to meet new people.Born in
Osaka Japan, he was raised in San Francisco,
California with a strong appreciation for
Asian culinary traditions.He started his
career as a sushi chef at a young age, and has been in
the business for many years.
Working
behind the sushi counter and chatting with customers as
he worked, Chef Ozaki learned that sushi lovers
come from many different backgrounds, and love sushi for
different reasons: for its delicious taste, its healthy
properties, or because it’s just plain fun to eat, to
name a few.
But many
sushi lovers share an adventurous spirit and a curiosity
about this delicious and exotic food. And as time went
by, Chef Ozaki found himself not only
preparing sushi, but educating his customers on the healthy
properties of sushi, its history, and the finer points
of making it. In short, he now describes himself
not only as a chef—but as a teacher.
